Environmental issues are a priority in Biotek's current management, always considered during the study and execution of new projects, such as the Tejo Project 2018, which aims to improve environmental performance significantly.

Biotek has an Environmental Management System implemented and certified by international standards. In this context, all environmental aspects are identified, their impacts are assessed for all activities developed, and prevention and mitigation measures implemented. 

Eliminating pollutants at their source is the most efficient method to minimize the impact of industrial activities on the surrounding environment. In this way, Biotek conducts constant analyses of gas emissions, the quality of its effluents, and the water of the Tagus River, ensuring the preservation of the environment. 

Recently, Biotek has made an extra effort to reduce water consumption, raw materials, fossil fuels, and waste production. These reductions increase the company's economic sustainability by lowering production costs and ensuring environmental sustainability, contributing to the maintenance and recovery of ecosystem integrity, thus aiming to reduce the ecological footprint.
