As part of the Altri group's strategy based on complete forest integration, Biotek enhances the value of this resource in pulp production and energy production (through the energetic use of lignin and biomass).

Cogeneration produces energy by generating steam using black liquor in the Recovery Boiler and expanding it in a turbine. This process allows the combined production of steam and electricity, increasing the overall efficiency of energy production. The smoke is used in factory processes as medium and low-pressure steam.

The electric power produced allows Biotek, under normal operating conditions, to meet its factory needs and is connected to the national electrical grid for energy exchanges (buying and selling).

Biotek produces all the thermal and electric energy it needs to carry out its pulp production activity.
